HR TECH OCTOBER 2025

Simplifying job search for millions.

Internal Careers search experience across desktop and mobile

Overview

Helping associates discover opportunities inside Walmart should feel as straightforward as finding a role outside it.

I redesigned Internal Careers as a clearer, more connected job-search experience, bringing discovery, applications, and next steps into one place.

Internal Careers role discovery experience

Problem

Finding a new role was far from simple. Associates had to navigate fragmented tools, unclear eligibility requirements, and a process that made career growth feel harder than it should.

The opportunity was to make internal mobility easier to understand, easier to act on, and more relevant to every associate.

Connecting the entire experience

The search experience needed to support associates’ choices in the moment. It connected discovery, role details, applications, and the guidance needed to make an informed next move.

Everything was designed to make internal opportunity feel visible and achievable, rather than hidden behind a process.

Faster applications

Associates can apply to multiple roles at once. Where an associate already qualified, the experience removed unnecessary steps so they could move forward without repeating information they had already provided.

Designed for associates

I spent time in stores speaking with associates about their experiences and the trade-offs they face when considering a new role. Those conversations shaped an experience grounded in how careers actually move inside Walmart.
